How edit text works
Edit mode: click any word and retype it — we cover the original with a clean white patch and lay your new text on top, matching the original size as closely as possible. Use the B / I buttons (or ⌘/Ctrl+B / ⌘/Ctrl+I) to toggle bold or italic. Add mode: drag any rectangle to drop a new text box. The result keeps real searchable text on every untouched page; only the patched regions become a small bitmap-free vector overlay. Limitation: font matching is approximate — we use a metric-compatible standard font (Helvetica/Times/Courier). Pages that are scanned images won't show clickable words; run them through Make Scanned PDF Searchable first.
