Service Description
PDF Chop Shop ("the Service") is a free, browser-based toolkit for splitting, merging, editing, converting, and otherwise manipulating PDF documents. All processing happens entirely within your web browser — no files are uploaded to any server.
The Service is provided free of charge with no accounts, no payment, no advertising, and no usage limits. It is offered as-is with no warranties or service-level commitments.
Acceptable Use
By using PDF Chop Shop, you agree to use it only for lawful purposes. You must not use the Service to process files:
- That you do not have the legal right to copy, modify, or distribute.
- That are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) in an attempt to circumvent content licensing.
- In any way that violates applicable law, including copyright law.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate rights to the documents you process.
No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- PDF processing will produce results identical to other tools or perfectly preserve all PDF features.
- The Service will be compatible with all PDF files (password-protected and DRM-protected files are not supported).
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDF Chop Shop and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Data loss or corruption of any file you process.
- Loss of work or business interruption.
- Any reliance placed on the output of the Service.
Always keep backups of your original files. We strongly recommend keeping unmodified copies of any documents before processing.
Intellectual Property
We do not claim any ownership over files you process using PDF Chop Shop. Since your files never leave your device, we have no access to them.
The PDF Chop Shop application itself — including its source code, design, and branding — is owned by its operators. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works of the application without permission.
Google Drive Integration
The optional Google Drive integration is subject to the Google Terms of Service in addition to these Terms. By using the Drive integration, you authorise PDF Chop Shop to access files you explicitly select through the Google Drive Picker using the drive.file scope. This access is used solely to download the selected file to your browser for local processing.
Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms of Service at any time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
